The TFDA and the MOEA jointly awarded the prizes of 2014 Drug Research and Development Science and Technology Award. TaiPharma won the silver medal in manufacturing technology. Its award-winning product is Megestrol Acetate Oral Suspension 125mg/mL, which is suitable for patients losing appetite and body weight due to illness. Taipharam has improved the dosage form to increase the unit strength. Its BA rate is not affected by the intake of foods.

The Drug Research and Development Science and Technology Award has three categories: pharmaceuticals, medical devices and manufacturing technology. The committee examined candidates and picked the products with outstanding performances and gave awards to encourage the development of emerging drugs.
