Time: February 6, 2014 (Thursday) 09:30-11:00

Place: Mainland Affairs Council
(15FL., No. 2-2, Sec 1, Jinan Rd., Taipei, Taiwan)

The representatives of pharmaceutical associations were accompanied by Dr Wu (Vice Director-General of the TFDA) and Dr Hsiao (adviser to the TFDA ) to visit the Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) and were received by Ms Wu Mei-Hung, Vice Chairperson of the MAC. The agenda of this visit was about the promotion of cross-strait healthcare cooperation.

Mr Wang, the Minister of the MAC, was soon to visit China to review the implementation of various cross-strait agreements. The TRPMA prepared a petition to the MAC. The petition included two issues: 1. A special project of piloting the cross-strait cooperation in new drug R&D should be set up by the MAC and the ARATS and be subject to regular review; 2. A fast-track assessment of drugs manufactured in Taiwan should be established. The TRPMA hoped the petition could help the MAC better understand the industrys positions and hence form consensuses.
